Regular Season Round 6: Libertadores - Mineros 80-86

The most important game in the last round took place in Queretaro between third ranked Libertadores (5-4) and seventh ranked Mineros (5-4) on Friday night. Libertadores were defeated by Mineros in a tough game at home 80-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Libertadores. Mineros had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized American Durrell Summers (196-1989, college: Michigan St.) who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Jordan Williams (198-1992, college: N.Texas) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Mineros' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Jamaican power forward Samardo Samuels (206-1989, college: Louisville) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Branden Frazier (191-1992, college: Fordham, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mineros moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Libertadores. Mineros is looking forward to face league's second-placed Fuerza Regia in Monterrey in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Libertadores will play at home against Halcones UV Xalapa and are hoping to win this game.
