Very important is a home loss of second ranked Vivo/Franca (5-2) against ninth ranked Corinthians (2-3) on Friday night. Host Vivo/Franca was defeated by Corinthians in a tough game in Sao Paulo 82-88. The former international guard Caue Borges (187-1991) notched 23 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Gabriel Campos (182-2001) supported him with 13 points and 6 assists. Five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Corinthians' coach Leo Alves allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds by the former international Jhonatan dos Santos (199-1987) did not help to save the game for Vivo/Franca. American guard David Jackson (190-1982, college: Penn St.) added 16 points. Corinthians moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sao Jose. Vivo/Franca at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Corinthians will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vivo/Franca's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paulo to the arena Sao Paulo.
