Important game to mention about took place in Sao Paulo. Third ranked Pinheiros (5-1) saved a 3-point derby victory at home edging 8th ranked Sao Jose (3-4) 75-72 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Felipe Ruivo (188) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international center Dikembe Andre (206-1999) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Eddy Carvalho (197-1987) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Douglas Nunes (210-1987) added 15 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Sao Jose. Four Sao Jose players scored in double figures. Sao Jose's coach Sebastian Luis Figueredo tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pinheiros moved-up to second place, which they share with Sao Paulo. Sao Jose at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Rio Claro. Pinheiros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sao Jose will play at home against Corinthians (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
