The game in Guadalajara was also worth to mention about. 7th ranked Plateros (4-4) played at the court of eighth ranked Astros (4-4). Astros defeated Plateros 93-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Plateros. Astros players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international guard Jorge Gutierrez (191-1988, college: California) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Nicaraguan-Puerto Rican guard Jared Ruiz (188-1992) added 21 points in the effort for Plateros. Five Astros and four Plateros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Astros moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Plateros. Astros will play against higher ranked Soles (#3) in Mexicali in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Plateros will play on the road against Correcaminos (#10) in Ciudad Victoria and hope to get back on the winning track.
