Undefeated Paulistano (7-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Sao Paulo (5-1) 78-69. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Sao Paulo made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. American power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-1988, college: Valdosta St.) fired 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Marquinhos Vieira (207-1984) chipped in 17 points. Five Sao Paulo players scored in double figures.
