Second Stage Round 3: Verdirrojo - Sayago 72-77

There was a small surprise in Montevideo where Sayago (2-1) defeated Verdirrojo (1-1) 77-72 on Monday. They outrebounded Verdirrojo 45-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Dante Bailey (201-1994, college: Langston) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Paul Harrison (203-1989, college: NGU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Brian Garcia (182) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Giovanni Corbisiero (180-2002) added 16 points respectively. Sayago will meet at home San Telmo RS (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Verdirrojo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Lagomar.
