Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Soles (5-6) lost to fourth ranked Astros (7-4) in Mexicali 72-88 on Wednesday. Astros outrebounded Soles 47-36 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Javion Blake (190, college: Washburn, agency: Haylett Sports) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Noah Allen (201-1995, college: Hawaii) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and center Kavion Pippen (208-1996, college: SIU) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Soles in the defeat. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Astros have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fuerza Regia and Mineros. Loser Soles keep the eighth position with six games lost. Astros will meet at home Libertadores (#5) in the next round.
