There was no surprise when 8th ranked Soles (5-6) lost to fourth ranked Astros (7-4) in Mexicali 59-75 on Thursday. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Javion Blake (190, college: Washburn, agency: Haylett Sports) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import swingman Aaron Valdes (196-1993, college: Hawaii) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. International point guard Moises Andriassi (185-2000) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American Noah Allen (201-1995, college: Hawaii) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Soles in the defeat. Soles' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Astros have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fuerza Regia and Mineros. Loser Soles keep the eighth position with six games lost. Astros will meet at home Libertadores (#5) in the next round. Soles will play against Correcaminos in Ciudad Victoria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
