Second Stage Round 4: Cordon - Larranaga 97-66

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Cordon (#1) and Larranaga (#7). Cordon (3-1) smashed visiting Larranaga (0-3) by 31 points 97-66. They outrebounded Larranaga 42-28 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cordon players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Larranaga's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Lucas Capalbo (175, college: Odessa JC) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Cristian Modernell (198-1999) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Maximiliano Nobile (181-1997) replied with 11 points and 4 assists and Argentinian forward Jonathan Sacco (196-1995) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Larranaga. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cordon have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-1 record, which they share with Sayago. Larranaga at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with San Telmo RS. Cordon will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Larranaga's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo 25 de Agosto.
