We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Margarita where second-ranked Guaiqueries (12-5) were defeated by third ranked Supersonicos (4-9) 98-85 on Friday. Supersonicos made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-1994, college: UCF) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Argentinian point guard Leandro Vildoza (180-1994) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) produced 21 points and 6 assists and the other American import forward Anthony Young (200-1989, college: KWC) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Supersonicos maintains third place with 4-9 record having twelve points less than leader Centauros. Loser Guaiqueries keep the second position with five games lost. They share it with Gigantes. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
