Regular Season Round 29: Cocodrilos - Guaiqueries 69-68

Important game to mention about took place in Caracas. First ranked Cocodrilos (13-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-ranked Guaiqueries (12-5) 69-68 in the game for the first place. The former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-1986) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Dominican guard Gelvis Solano (185-1994, college: Merrimack) accounted for 18 points. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) came up with 19 points and the other American import center Jamelle Hagins (206-1990, college: Delaware) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Guaiqueries in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cocodrilos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-3 record. Guaiqueries at the other side keep the second position with five games lost. They share it with Gigantes. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
