Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Pinheiros (#5) and Corinthians (#8). Pinheiros (6-2) won against visiting Corinthians (2-6) 91-82. Corinthians was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international forward Rafael Munford (195-1998, college: Augusta) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Felipe Ruivo (188) accounted for 24 points and 11 assists. Guard Isaac Goncalves (196-1990) came up with 18 points and 5 assists and the former international guard Caue Borges (187-1991) added 15 points and 7 assists respectively for Corinthians in the defeat. Four Pinheiros and five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Corinthians' coach Leo Alves rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pinheiros moved-up to third place, which they share with Bauru. Corinthians lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Pinheiros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Corinthians will play at home against Osasco (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
