Not a big story in a game in Matagalpa where 8th ranked Indigenas (3-10) were defeated by second ranked Jaguares (11-2) 89-72 on Sunday. Jaguares looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Indigenas' players. The best player for the winners was American Timothy Simmons (195-1992, college: DBU) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import center Leon Hampton (213-1995, college: Stillman) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Hampton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Dominican guard Jefry Arias (182-1994) produced 45 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Raul Mendoza (190-1987) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jaguares maintains second position with 11-2 record having just three points less than leader Real Esteli. Indigenas lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with ten games lost.
