Not a big story in a game in Mexicali where 8th ranked Soles (6-9) were rolled over by first ranked Dorados (11-4) 94-75 on Friday. Dorados made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American Daniel Laster (199-1996, college: Gardner-Webb) who recorded 20 points and the other American import center Kavion Pippen (208-1996, college: SIU) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Dorados. They maintain first place with 11-4 record, which they share with Astros. Soles lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Dorados will meet at home Libertadores (#4) in the next round. Soles will play against Fuerza Regia (#3) in Monterrey and hope to secure a win.
