We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Leonas (5-7) won against at home one of their biggest challengers Tipitapa (5-7) 74-61 on Thursday. Leonas held Tipitapa to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.6 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Leonas had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dominican center Yamile Rodriguez (188-1994, college: ETSU) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 21 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the effort and Colombian forward Lizeth Cuadros (-1995) supported her with 27 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leonas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Tipitapa.
