Regular Season Round 36: Cocodrilos - Spartans 71-64

Not a big story in a game when 3rd ranked Spartans (8-11) lost to first ranked Cocodrilos (15-5) in Caracas 64-71 on Friday. The winners were led by forward Jovanni Diaz (203-1990) who scored that evening 13 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-1986) supported him with 2 points and 14 rebounds. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. Cocodrilos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) did not help to save the game for Spartans. International guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Cocodrilos maintains first position with 15-5 record. Spartans lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with 11 games lost. Cocodrilos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas .
