Rather expected game when 10th ranked Osasco (2-12) was rolled over at home by eighth ranked Corinthians (7-7) 93-71 on Saturday. Corinthians outrebounded Osasco 48-33 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international guard Caue Borges (187-1991) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) chipped in 20 points. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Jose Carlos (200-1997) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Magna Silva (201-1998) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Corinthians maintains eighth place with 7-7 record. Osasco lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Corinthians will meet at home higher ranked Sao Jose (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
