Regular Season Round 10: Fuerza Regia - Soles 86-78

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Fuerza Regia (11-6) beat 8th ranked Soles (6-11) in Monterrey 86-78 on Saturday. Fuerza Regia made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game, while Soles only scored six points from the stripe. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international point guard Paul Stoll (180-1985) notched 21 points and 7 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) to lead the effort and Argentinian Joseph Avila supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Nick King (201-1995, college: MTSU) did not help to save the game for Soles. His fellow American import center Kavion Pippen (208-1996, college: SIU) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fuerza Regia maintains third position with 11-6 record having just two points less than leader Astros. Soles lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Fuerza Regia will meet at home Plateros (#7) in the next round. Soles will play against Abejas and hope to secure a win.
