Regular Season Round 37: Spartans - Gladiadores 77-90

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas: Gladiadores (#1) and Spartans (#2). Spartans were defeated at home 77-90 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Gladiadores players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican Devon Collier (203-1991, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Sheldon Mac (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Gladiadores players scored in double figures. International power forward Eliezer Montano (206-1991) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and international center Windi Graterol (204-1986, agency: Pro Sports) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Spartans. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Gladiadores. They maintain first place with 18-5 record, which they share with Centauros. Spartans at the other side keep the second position with 11 games lost.
