Regular Season Round 1: Aleman - Talca 49-74

There was a minor upset in Puerto Varas where Aleman was crushed by Talca 74-49 on Saturday. Talca outrebounded Aleman 41-30 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni fired 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Jason Watts II (201, college: Lambton) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Watts II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Jonathan Alvial (188-1988) produced 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Marcelo Villagran (184-1988) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Talca will meet at home Municipal C. in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aleman will have a break next round.
