Regular Season Round 14: Praia - Corinthians 61-80

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Corinthians (12-2) crushed 4th ranked Praia (8-6) in Vitoria 80-61 on Tuesday. Guard Lucas Prolla (183-2004) notched 17 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and Maozinha Pereira (200-2000) supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Corinthians players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds by forward Guilherme Estevao (204-2000) did not help to save the game for Praia. Guard Raffael Mencarini (187-2001) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Corinthians have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-2 record having just two points less than leader Pinheiros. Loser Praia keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Corinthians will meet at home league's second-placed Sao Jose in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Praia will play against Sao Paulo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
