Regular Season Round 3: Halcones - Atletico Nacional 55-110

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Panama City: Atletico (#1) and Halcones (#4). Halcones were crushed at home by 55 points 55-110 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Atletico shot 61.2 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Halcones turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 61.5 percentage. Atletico players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Halcones' players. It was a good game for power forward Josimar Blenman (200-1989, college: Globe Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Joel Munoz (183-1980) contributed with 11 points and 9 assists for the winners. Five Atletico players scored in double figures. Grant Alejandro (199-1993) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Bryan Waithe (188-1994, college: Lindenwood) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Halcones. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atletico will play against Lobos (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Halcones will play against Lobos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
