Regular Season Round 8: Dark Knights - Villa Nueva 41-65

The biggest surprise of round 8 in Liga Metropolitan was guest Villa Nueva's (3-4) easy road victory over 5th ranked Dark Knights (2-5) 65-41 on Tuesday evening. Villa Nueva outrebounded Dark Knights 54-28 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international Ronal Campos (-1987) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds. Enrique Samayoa (193-1982) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Villa Nueva players scored in double figures. Juan Martinez (-2001) produced 18 points and Cristian Diaz (-2000) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Villa Nueva moved-up to fifth place. Dark Knights at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Villa Nueva are looking forward to face league's second-placed Azucareros in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dark Knights will play against Coeindeguasa (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
