Date: October 14, 2022
The most important game of round 8 took place in Buenos Aires between two undefeated teams where Argentinian Boca beat Uruguayan Aguada (1-1) 69-59 on Friday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Boca. Aguada managed to win second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Jordanian Dar Tucker (193-1988, college: DePaul) who helped to win the game recording 28 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Marcos Mata (202-1986) who added 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boca (2-0) keeps a position of league leader. Aguada at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Olimpia. They were replaced at the leadership position by San Jose. Aguada will play next round against strong Los Leones trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Boca will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Olimpia in Montevideo.
