Regular Season Round 4: Puerto Montt - Castro 64-74

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Puerto Montt (1-2) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Castro (1-2) 74-64 on Saturday. Castro shot 26 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Puerto Montt only scored ten points from the stripe. They outrebounded Puerto Montt 39-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Argentinian forward Gabriel Hermosillas (202-1993) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners (made all of her seven free throws). Guard Ricardo Cardenas (173-1995) chipped in 13 points. Four Castro players scored in double figures. Castro's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marco Ugalde (-1999) produced 19 points and 4 steals and point guard Camilo Torres (183-1998) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Castro left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Puerto Montt. Castro will meet at home Osorno (#5) in the next round. Puerto Montt will play against the league's second-placed Puerto Varas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
