Panama
Regular Season Round 4: Universitarios - Atletico Nacional 70-83
Date: October 16, 2022
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Panama City: Atletico (#1) and Halcones (#6). Halcones were defeated at home 70-83 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of Jonathan King (193-1990, college: ACU) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Forward Aaron Gedeon (203-1999, college: Southwest) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Brandon Franklin (191-1993, college: Pacific Union) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Arturo Molina (182-2003) added 14 points in the effort for Halcones. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Atletico (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Halcones lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Atletico will play against league's second-placed Caballos in Aguadulce in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halcones will play against Lobos (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
