The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Caribenas' (5-6) home victory over bottom-ranked Danzantes (0-8) 76-68 on Tuesday. Caribenas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Danzantes' 28. Caribenas forced 29 Danzantes turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Point guard Jormelys Urbina (170-1996) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Ignali Blanco (-1998) chipped in 7 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals during the contest. At the losing side Angely Rojas responded with 15 points and 5 assists and Valentina Corrales scored 12 points and 4 assists. Four Danzantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Caribenas moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Danzantes still closes the standings with eight games lost. Caribenas will meet at home league's second-placed Cayenas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Danzantes will play against the league's second-placed Cayenas and hope to get finally their first victory.
