Fourth-ranked Hebraica (3-6) made lots of trouble for second ranked D.Sporting (7-2) in Montevideo on Wednesday. D.Sporting managed to secure only one-point victory 56-55. However their fans expected easier game. D.Sporting held Hebraica to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 23.9 percent accuracy of the winners. The best player for the winners was Italian-Paraguayan swingman Paola Ferrari (178-1985, college: Union, TN) who scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Carolina Curbelo (178-2002) chipped in 4 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian guard Valeria Fernandez (-1998) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian forward Celeste Alfaro (172-1992) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Defending champion maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Yale. Hebraica at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. D.Sporting's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo 25 de Agosto.
