Regular Season Round 11: Capitalinas - Danzantes 85-59

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Danzantes (0-16) were outplayed on the road by first ranked Capitalinas (12-4) 85-59 on Monday. Capitalinas forced 23 Danzantes turnovers and had a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Yolimar Martinez (184-1995) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Johan Ramirez (-1991) chipped in 12 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Capitalinas players scored in double figures. The former international Yanetsy Zamaro (178-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Angely Rojas added 11 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Capitalinas maintains first place with 12-4 record. Danzantes lost their sixteenth game in a row. Danzantes at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Capitalinas will meet league's second-placed Cayenas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Danzantes will play against Bucaneras in La Guaira, Vargas and hope to get finally their first victory.
