The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Cimarrones as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Cimarrones defeated second-best Team Cali in Quibdo-Choco 70-62. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was American guard Lysander Bracey (193-1996, college: Hampton) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. Center Andres Bejarano (202) chipped in 15 points. Cimarrones' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard John Merchant (187-1989, college: Dowling) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Dominican forward Jeromy Rodriguez (201-1996, college: ETSU) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Cimarrones (12-3) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Team Cali lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with four games lost.
