Very expected game when 17th ranked Union SF (1-4) lost to sixth ranked Obera (5-1) in Santa Fe 72-82 on Friday. Obera outrebounded Union SF 42-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Dominican forward Xavier Carreras (198-1994) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-1993, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Slash Sports) accounted for 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Five Obera players scored in double figures. Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas) came up with 16 points and Cuban center Pedro Bombino (206-2000, agency: Pro Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Union SF in the defeat. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Obera. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Union SF dropped to the eighteenth position with four games lost. Obera will meet Platense (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Union SF will play against Argentino (#8) and hope to win that game.
