Regular Season Round 9: Luis Matte - Catolica 46-59

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Luis Matte (0-5) was defeated at home by third ranked Catolica (4-2) 59-46 on Sunday. Catolica outrebounded Luis Matte 51-32 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward TJ Robinson (203-1989, college: LBSU) stepped up and scored 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Deiker Salcedo (181-2002) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Ronald Reyes (-1999) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Venezuelan Luis Adrian (-1998) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Catolica moved-up to second place. Luis Matte lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Temuco and Aleman. Catolica will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Luis Matte will play against Arabe de Valp. (#4) in Valparaiso and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
