The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Quimsa as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Quimsa edged 6th ranked La Banda in Santiado del Estero 44-43. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La Banda. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Colombian center Malvina DAgostino (184-2001) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Lucia Boggetti (162-1998) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Stefania Lucero replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Aldana Pineiro (163-1998, agency: BIG) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for La Banda. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Cordoba. Newly promoted La Banda keeps the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. La Banda will play next round against Catamarca trying to get back on the winning streak. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
