Regular Season Round 8: Quimsa - La Union 91-86
Date: November 16, 2022
Very expected game in Santiado del Estero where 15th ranked La Union (3-8) was defeated by sixth ranked Quimsa (6-3) 91-86 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) who scored 39 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) produced 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Xavier Hill-Mais (202-1996, college: Oakland) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four La Union players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Quimsa have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Obras and Obera. La Union lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Quimsa will meet at home Regatas (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Union will play against Union SF and hope to secure a win.
