The most surprising game was the first loss of Goes (4-1) in Montevideo on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked L.Borges (3-3) 75-62. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Goes. They outrebounded Goes 43-29 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for point guard Mauro Zubiaurre (189-1994) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Christian Pereira (194-1993) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four L.Borges players scored in double figures. Forward Ignacio Xavier (196-1999, agency: Pro Sports) replied with 14 points and 4 assists and guard Martin Osimani (194-1981, college: Duquesne, agency: Pro Sports) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for Goes. Goes' coach Guillermo Narvarte rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. L.Borges moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Aguada and Penarol. Goes at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Bigua. L.Borges will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Goes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Olimpia.
