Everything went according to plan when leader Sportiva Italiana (7-0) outplayed 3rd placed Sergio Ceppi (3-4) in Valparaiso 99-63 on Friday. Sportiva Italiana dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Sergio Ceppi's 30. They outrebounded Sergio Ceppi 54-30 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sportiva Italiana looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sergio Ceppi's players. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian power forward Federico Herrera (200-1993) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Matias Lubiano (-1999) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Five Sportiva Italiana players scored in double figures. Julian Maschke (-1999) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Fabian Aguilera (-1995) added 23 points respectively for Sergio Ceppi in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sportiva Italiana have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record, which they share with Concepcion and Los Leones.
