Regular Season Round 11: Manquehue - Quilicura 90-61

Not a big story in a game when 3rd placed Quilicura (4-3) was outscored by first ranked Manquehue (6-1) in Santiago 90-61 on Saturday. Manquehue outrebounded Quilicura 44-32 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Fernando Schuler (190-1991) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Juan Peters (-1993) accounted for 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Manquehue players scored in double figures. American power forward Shannon Fowler (203, college: UWG) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Jose Luis Campos (189) added 12 points respectively for Quilicura in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Manquehue have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Valdivia and Puerto Varas. Loser Quilicura keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Las Animas. Manquehue will meet league's second-placed Tinguiririca in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quilicura will play against Tomas L. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
