Regular Season Round 11: Truenos - Aleman 88-57

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Aleman (0-7) was outleveled by second ranked Truenos (5-2) in Talca 88-57 on Saturday. Truenos shot 20 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Aleman only scored two points from the stripe. Truenos forced 20 Aleman turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for forward Nick Morales (187-1985) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Ricardo Gomez (176-1993) accounted for 24 points for the winning side. Forward Otto Schulten (-2002) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Renato Coloma (-2003) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Aleman in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Truenos maintains second place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Manquehue, which they share with Catolica and Tinguiririca. Loser Aleman still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Osorno. Truenos will meet Municipal C. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aleman will play against the league's leader Concepcion and hopes to get finally their first victory.
