Regular Season Round 9: Lobos - Centinelas 87-100

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Lobos (9-6) against fifth ranked Centinelas (7-8) on Saturday night. Host Lobos were defeated by Centinelas in 100-87. They outrebounded Lobos 45-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Centinelas players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for Lucas Chavez (187-1995) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. American Antonio Austin (196-1991, college: SDCC) contributed with 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Austin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Centinelas players scored in double figures. Costa Rican Victor Arias (197-1995) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Costa Rican swingman Daniel Shedden (191-1996, college: MSUB) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Lobos. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Centinelas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Halcones. Lobos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the second position with six games lost. They share it with Caballos.
