Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked La Banda (2-4) was defeated at home by third ranked Quimsa (5-1) 60-49 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Colombian guard Maria Delgado (173-1996, college: Angelo St.) who scored 19 points and 4 assists. Guard Lorena Campos (166-1999) chipped in 16 points. Quimsa's coach Santiago Sayago used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Aldana Pineiro (163-1998, agency: BIG) produced 13 points and Stefania Lucero added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Quimsa maintains third place with 5-1 record behind leader Pacifico. Newly promoted La Banda dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Union Florida and Ferro Carril. Quimsa will meet at home Catamarca (#6) in the next round. La Banda will play against Riachuelo LR in La Rioja and hope to secure a win.
