No shocking result in a game in Buenos Aires where second ranked Gimnasia (10-2) smashed 12th ranked Ferro (4-7) 92-65 on Tuesday. Gimnasia made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Gimnasia outrebounded Ferro 48-29 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international Agustin Barreiro (205-1999) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and the former international Ivan Gramajo (193-1996) chipped in 17 points. Four Gimnasia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Juan Laterza (180-1997) with 16 points and Lucas Arn (197-1989) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gimnasia. They maintain second place with 10-2 record behind leader Instituto. Ferro lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Argentino. Gimnasia will meet Riachuelo LR (#17) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Ferro will play against Comunicaciones (#20) and hope to secure a win.
