Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Rio Claro (2-7) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (5-4) 92-48. Paschoalotto/Bauru dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Rio Claro's 30. They outrebounded Rio Claro 38-22 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-1994, college: Mount Olive) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Germerson Barbosa (205-1993) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. Venezuelan Edgar Martinez (199-1997) replied with 14 points and American point guard Kenny Dawkins (177-1987, college: Lamar) added 6 points in the effort for Rio Claro. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Paschoalotto/Bauru maintains seventh position with 5-4 record. Rio Claro at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Fortaleza. Paschoalotto/Bauru will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rio Claro will play at home against Caxias do Sul (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
