There was a small surprise when ninth ranked La Banda (3-4) beat at home 7th ranked Ameghino (3-5) 58-48 on Saturday. Jacqueline Soto scored 12 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Giuliana Baccarelli chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Paraguayan forward Paloma Niz (175-1999) with 18 points and Aylen Valdez scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. La Banda moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Catamarca. Ameghino at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Union Florida and Rocamora. La Banda will meet Riachuelo LR (#11) in the next round where they are favorite. Ameghino will play against Cordoba and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the just one year after relegation.
