Regular Season Round 12: Las Animas - Liceo PN 124-87

Everything went according to plan in Valdivia where third ranked Las Animas (5-3) outscored 5th ranked Liceo PN (1-7) 124-87 on Sunday. Las Animas dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Liceo PN's 34 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Liceo PN 42-25 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Las Animas looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 16-of-19 shooting from the field). Spanish Alejandro Vergara (196-1995) chipped in 31 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Las Animas players scored in double figures. Las Animas' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Brazilian Alexandre Ludwig who recorded 23 points and forward Vicente Cortes (-2001) added 19 points respectively. Las Animas moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Liceo PN lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
