Very important is a home loss of second ranked Gimnasia (10-3) against twentieth ranked Comunicaciones (2-12) on Wednesday night. Host Gimnasia was defeated by Comunicaciones in Comodoro Rivadavia 82-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gimnasia. It was an exceptional evening for American Noah Allen (201-1995, college: Hawaii) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Will Vorhees (203-1995, college: NDC) accounted for 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Vorhees is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Gerard DeVaughn (205-1988, college: Stillman) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Cuban forward Joaquin Mensia (198-1997, agency: Pro Sports) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Gimnasia in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Comunicaciones moved-up to nineteenth place. Gimnasia at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Obras. Comunicaciones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gimnasia will play at home against La Union and hopes to get back on the winning track.
