Sixteenth-ranked Independ.O. (3-6) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Olimpico (9-2) in Olivia on Monday. The visitors from La Banda managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Elyjah Clark (190-1998, college: MSSU) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center Roberto Acuna (208-1990) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Salvador Giletto (195-1993) with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and power forward Fernando Martina (201-1981) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Independ.O. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Olimpico maintains fourth position with 9-2 record. Newly promoted Independ.O. keeps the sixteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Riachuelo LR. Olimpico will meet at home bottom-ranked Atenas (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Independ.O. will have a break next round.
