There was a surprise result in Montevideo where twelfth ranked Olimpia (3-7) defeated higher ranked Malvin (5-6) 76-71 on Monday. It was a great evening for American forward Delwan Graham (200-1988, college: Jacksonville) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Point guard Tiago Leites (197-2002) helped adding 15 points. Olimpia's coach German Fernandez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-1990, college: Murray St., agency: 011 Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and American swingman Anthony Hilliard (195-1986, college: ECSU) scored 17 points. Four Malvin players scored in double figures. Olimpia moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Urupan. Malvin lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Urunday.
