The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Obras as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Obras defeated 18th ranked Union SF in Buenos Aires 80-69. It was a good game for Luca Valussi (195-1998) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Uruguayan forward Emiliano Serres (205-1997, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas) replied with 18 points and naturalized Brazilian swingman Ayan Carvalho (196-1997, college: Temple) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Union SF. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Obras (12-3) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Union SF at the other side keeps the eighteenth place with nine games lost. Union SF will play next round against Ferro trying to get back on the winning streak. Obras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
