There was a small surprise when eighth ranked La Banda (5-6) won against at home 6th ranked Catamarca (5-6) 48-40 on Sunday. They outrebounded Catamarca 44-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Melina Niz who scored 17 points. Stefania Lucero chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. Anahi Albornoz (-1998) produced 7 points and 6 rebounds and Bolivian Romina Moreira (-1999) added 4 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Catamarca's coach Jose Collantes tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. La Banda moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Catamarca.
