No shocking result in a game in Olivia where fifth ranked Obera (10-3) defeated 13th ranked Independ.O. (5-7) 74-65 on Friday. They outrebounded Independ.O. 42-29 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-1993, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-1990) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Obera players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Martin Cabrera (179-1996) with 15 points and 5 assists and Venezuelan guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) scored 17 points. Independ.O.'s coach Martin Gonzalez rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Obera have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 10-3 record. Newly promoted Independ.O. dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Obera will meet Penarol (#7) in the next round.
